PULSE SURVEY - St. Johns in St. Paul, MN

Dear friends in Christ,

We are very-much looking forward to working with you in the near future as you take part in the WELS Commission on Congregational Counseling SAA program.

SAA stands for self-analysis and adjustment. Our two-part goal:
1) We want to help you make a comprehensive analysis of your ministry. What are your strengths? What are some challenges you are facing? This analysis occurs through an extremely intensive Bible study that will take place on an upcoming Saturday and Sunday.
2) We want to suggest resources that allow you to adjust your ministry in Biblically appropriate ways. Over the course of six to ten months, we help you implement those adjustments that you yourselves have deemed would serve the Gospel.

For us to facilitate that discussion/Bible Study, we need a snapshot of your congregation and community. And so we utilize a company to provide us with a demographic study of your community. We ask the church to provide us a congregational profile. We ask for some church records and documents.

Finally, we utilize a "pulse survey." This survey lets us "take the pulse" of the congregation in two ways. First, it allows you to tell us what you think are the strengths of your congregation (which we want to build on) and what are some of the challenges you face. Secondly, it allows us to understand what you view as the specific priorities of your church. Again, we want to be able to get you resources to help you meet those specific priorities as best as possible, all to the glory of God.

Therefore, we ask you to take the time to fill out this pulse survey. This survey can be done in as quickly as 10 minutes or as long as an hour. Much of it is multiple choice. However, for every multiple choice question, you are provided the opportunity to give the reason that you answered as you did. Those can be helpful. So please, take your time. It is very helpful! Thank you for that effort.

Again, we are really looking forward to be with you!

Your servant in Christ,
Jonathan Hein
